Featured Artist_ Parmida Ziaei

Parmida Ziaei is an Iranian performer, choreographer and designer currently based in Seattle. Parmida started dancing at a young age with training in classical Ballet, and from there expanded to many other dance styles including Classical Persian dance, competitive ballroom dancing, and Contemporary. Parmida often brings together the intricacy and elegance of Classical Persian dance, the freedom of contemporary movement and fierceness of Latin dance to create a unique and honest fusion of these dance style and to tell a story. In her teaching and choreography work, she is interested in exploring how each person's body embodies movement to tell a story and express emotions.
